Elmyna Bouchard was born in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean in 1965. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi in 1988 and a printer training at Studio Sagamie in Alma, she moved to Montreal in the early 1990s. Since 1989, his work has been featured in several individual and collective exhibitions, as well as numerous private and public collections, including the National Museum of Fine Arts of Quebec, Alcan, Loto -Québec, Hydro-Québec, Cirque du Soleil, National Library of Quebec and National Bank. Bouchard received several awards, including the Loto-Québec Prints Contest (2000), the Alma Printing, Drawing and Paper Biennial (2001) and the 8th Great Canadian Printmaking Competition (2002). In 2003, she was presented with the Prix de la Fondation Monique and Robert Parizeau by Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec.
