Pierre Alechinsky was born in Brussels in 1927. He studied at the School of the decorative arts of Cambre. Painter and engraver of international fame, he was one major actor of the Belgian artistic scene during the post-war years. Alechinsky displays gladly a biting humor at the same time as a capacity to pursue the analogies between the words and the things. We find the Alechinsky artwork in several international museums. The Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec presented an exhibition of its works in 2003.
