Eveline Boulva, Empaysages – Québec
The gallery Lacerte art contemporain (Quebec) is pleased to present Empaysages – a selection of recent works by the artist Eveline Boulva. For this corpus, the artist used the material heritage of the Capitale-Nationale Region, mainly the humanized landscapes of the Côte-de-Beaupré.
“Eveline Boulva draws landscapes. These are not idealized landscapes that celebrate our bucolic decorations or a way of life of the past. His works are in the image of our time when territory is measured, occupied, distributed and where nature is industrialized. In order to translate the spatial mutations, the alterations to the territory and to show the nature under tension, Boulva uses photographs of natural and industrial landscapes which he superimposes and which form the framework of his patient work with pencil and graphite. In his works, some samples of nature survive through the matrices of the surveyor and the modeling of the engineer.”
